Nauzan beach is lovely. There is a large promenade and La Potiniere and La Nauzan restaurants are excellent. La Maison Blanche is also on the beach, being a restaurant/bar with a swimming pool.

Good for kids. This beach is 10 minutes walk from the house and is a real favourite. There are numerous bike racks but there are 3 different public car parks if it is too hot to walk!

Conseil Beach is a small cove and is totally unspoilt. There are no shops restaurants or bars here but that's good if you want some peace and quiet.

Again, its about 10 minutes walk from the house and it's accessed down a small path so parking is limited.

You can walk from this beach round the old smugglers path in about 5 minutes to the more commercial Nauzan beach.

St Palais sur Mer is about 5 minutes drive from the house, again with loads of public car parking and bike racks - so take your choice! This is a beautiful seaside Village with a lot happening - the beach is fantastic and has a Kids Club. There are loads of shops and eateries and most nights something is going on in the main square.

The Globetotter restaurant is fantastic, both outside under the old tree or inside in the Morroccan decorated restaurant(try it, you won't regret it!)

Also, try Chez Bob's, a great atmosphere eatery!

Pontaillac beach is a little more towards Royan but is a delightful Victorian era beach resort. Loads of interesting buildings surround this excellent beach. There are too many restaurants and bars to check out but you must go to the Iguana Cafe for a beer and then BB Snack which serves the best entrecote & frites in France! Both are on the seafront, near the Casino.

If you can, avoid the Casino on the beach, it's just full of slot machines and is very commercial.
